The Laker S ice rod is a 48" heavy weight fiberglass spinning rod designed for big predatory fish. The inspiration for this rod came from the demand from anglers who have a passion for chasing world class lake trout on Flaming Gorge Reservoir where fish can be upwards of 50 pounds.
This rod has a moderate action which provides enough strength for big baits - as big as 3 oz. - while still providing the sensitivity to detect soft bites, which big lakers are notorious for.
Anglers often lose fish because lakers with head shake and roll when they get close to the hole. This behavior causes slack line and creates a release in line tension helping the hook pop free. The moderate action our Laker S fiberglass rod will give you much needed play in the rod and absorb the head shakes and rolls exhibited by lakers when they get close to the hole. Hopefully, compensating for the in the slack line and helping you land more big fish.
